Brune Poirson takes over as Director of Sustainability at Accor

Its function will be to define, promote and monitor the commitments, the strategy and the deployment of the action plans of the French group. He will also be responsible for the Accor Solidarity Foundation and the ALL Heartists Fund

Accor announces the appointment of Brune Poirson as Chief Sustainability Officer. The professional will report directly to Sébastien Bazin, President and CEO, and will become a member of the Executive Committee. Its function will be to define, promote and monitor the commitments, strategy and deployment of the Group's action plans in terms of sustainable development. He will also be responsible for the Accor Solidarity Foundation and the ALL Heartists Fund. This appointment will take effect on May 5, 2021.

Committed to sustainable development, Brune Poirson has experience working in the public and private sectors. Within the French government he defended the law against waste to counteract plastic pollution, and has integrated important organizations both in the French country and internationally. Until recently, Brune was a member of Parliament and for three years she was Secretary of State for Environmental Transition. She was the first French woman to be elected vice president of the United Nations Environment Assembly.

Brune Poirson started her career in London, at NESTA, the UK-based Innovation Foundation, and then moved on to the French Development Agency and the Veolia group in India, before working in a green business incubator in Boston. Brune Poirson, 38, graduated from the London School of Economics, Sciences Po Aix and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
