Viva Aerobus announces 5 new routes

The low-cost airline will now fly Mexico City - Austin, Mexico City - Cozumel, Monterrey - Austin, Monterrey - Cozumel and Cancun - Culiacán

With a service adhering to strict prevention and hygiene measures, Viva Aerobus continues to expand its offer with five new routes. On the one hand, in direct response to international demand, Viva announced new flights from Austin to Mexico City, a seasonal route, and to Monterrey, a regular route. On the other hand, to meet the summer needs within the framework of the responsible reactivation of tourism, the airline will operate flights from Cozumel to Mexico City, regular route, and to Monterrey, summer route; and from Cancun to Culiacán.

The Austin - Mexico City seasonal route will be available from June 20 to October 25 with two flights a week (Tuesdays and Sundays) with prices starting at USD $ 89 for a single trip. Austin - Monterrey, a regular route that only Viva Aerobus offers, will begin on June 19, flying twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays). Tickets for these flights also start at USD $ 89 one way.

With these launches, Viva Aerobus reaffirms its commitment to the market between Mexico and the United States. So far this year, the airline has already put 6 new routes to the United States up for sale: Mexico City and Monterrey to Austin, León to Houston and San Antonio, Los Cabos- Cincinnati (seasonal route), and Monterrey - Harlingen.

For its part, in order to provide an efficient and accessible transportation option, reducing travel time between key tourist destinations in a season of high demand, Viva also expanded its national offer in Quintana Roo with three new services.

Under this commitment, the airline will arrive for the first time in Cozumel. Flights from this island to Monterrey, a seasonal route that only Viva operates, will begin on July 2 with 2 flights a week (Monday and Friday) and will be available until August 13; Tickets start at $ 509 pesos for a single trip, plus the payment for the Airport Use Fee (TUA). Cozumel - Mexico City will begin on July 5 with a daily flight and tickets starting at $ 169 pesos for a single trip, plus TUA. Finally, Cancun - Culiacán, another route that only Viva offers, will begin on July 3 with a weekly flight (Saturday) and at prices starting at $ 499 pesos for a single trip, plus TUA.

With the opening of these new routes, Viva Aerobus strengthens its presence and leadership in three of its operational bases. Monterrey - Cozumel becomes Viva's route number 41 from / to the Monterrey capital, being the operator with the most diverse range of flights; While with Cancún - Culiacán, Viva Aerobus already has 32 routes to / from this Quintana Roo city, also consolidating itself as one of the airlines with the largest number of routes in this destination. Finally, from Mexico City, Viva now offers 41 routes: 32 national and 9 international.  

All flights will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft that are part of the youngest fleet in Mexico and the second youngest in all of North America, offering the highest standards in terms of safety, efficiency and reliability. Added to this are the disciplined protocols of the Viva Contigo program that include additional disinfection processes in aircraft, luggage and common areas, safe distance guidelines, constant training in personnel biosafety, use of face masks, availability of sanitizing gel, among many Other actions.
