Intense activity in Argentina during FITUR

The country is present at the Madrid tourism fair where its officials hold vital meetings for the future of the tourism sector

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, Matías Lammens, and the executive secretary of Inprotur, Ricardo Sosa, held meetings with the international aviation sector on the second day of the 2021 International Tourism Fair (FITUR). they met with Air Europa authorities: the deputy general manager, Richard Clark, and the commercial manager, Imanol Pérez. During the hearing, they evaluated the possibilities of joint work to promote the reactivation of tourism from Spain and Europe to Argentina, with Air Europa as a strategic ally.

Later, Lammens visited the stand in Peru and met with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Claudia Cornejo Mohme, where the intention of promoting joint promotion in specific distant markets such as the United States and China was discussed and the initiation of a bilateral cooperation in the framework of sustainable tourism between both governments.

In turn, the Secretary for Tourism Promotion, Yanina Martinez, participated in the opening ceremony of the presentation of the 1st Ibero-American Gastronomic Congress (SEGIB). The objective of this congress is to promote the culture and gastronomic wealth of our region and will have the participation of important chefs and specialists in sustainable and sustainable food.

In the afternoon, there was a presentation of the International Association for Tourism Cooperation (ASICOTUR), whose president, Alejandro Rubín Carballo, spoke about cooperation in the tourism field. This association carries out a work of connection between those public administrations and institutions or private companies that require advice in the development of tourism projects, and professionals and entities, public or private, that due to their experience in each specific field can provide efficiently that collaboration.

Later, Minister Lammens held an audience with executives from eDreams Odigeo, one of the most important travel agencies in Europe. With the Chief Airlines and Advertising Officer, Pablo Caspers, a cooperative work was evaluated for the reactivation of tourism from Spain to Argentina, being one of the main actors of the commercial channel. It should be noted that a joint campaign is being worked on.

Likewise, Sosa met with the highest authorities of the El Corte Inglés travel group: the general director, Miguel Ángel de la Mata; the director of Vacation Areas, Carmen Santa Ana; the Director of Institutional Marketing, Tania García; and the director of Tourmundial, Luis López. He also met with representatives of Avoris Corporación Empresarial: Vicente Fenollar, CEO of the company, and Miguel Ángel Sanchez, CEO. In addition, the agenda included an audience with Luis Arsuaga Rato, vice president of the NH Hotel Group, which plans investments in our country.
