Anguilla reopens its doors to tourism

Quarantine was reduced for visitors vaccinated with the second dose

As announced earlier this month, the return of the travelers comes after the closure of just over a month long to contain the new cases of COVID-19, identified on April 22. The traveler who wishes to enter the island must pre-register online.

With the successful containment and advancement of the vaccination program on the island, the Anguilla government has also reduced the quarantine period to seven (7) days for travelers who are fully vaccinated, that is, tourists who have taken the last doses of the immunizer at least three weeks prior to arrival at the destination. The government has also expanded vaccination sites in a joint effort to reach the declared target of 70% of the resident population, which will dramatically reduce the possibility of viral transmission.

"We suffered a temporary setback when we had to close our borders on April 22," declared Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism Quincia Gumbs-Marie. “We acted quickly and implemented a series of proactive measures to control and contain this group of infections, along with a greater scope of vaccination. Now we can reopen safely, protecting the health of our residents and visitors, "he said.

"Anguilla continues to be a desired and coveted destination, which is reflected in our strong reservations for Memorial Day weekend (a holiday in the United States to be celebrated on May 31)," said Tourism Director Stacey. Liburd.
