According to Aldemar Sanchez Urbano, general manager of ibis budget Bogotá Marly, “It is expected that hotels in the economic segment and international brand will have a faster recovery than other segments. At the Colombian level, in the hotels of the Accor group, this assumption is being fulfilled by having a more accessible price and by generating greater confidence in the biosafety protocols implemented by the brands ”.

The ibis budget Bogotá Marly hotel is a franchise operated by HGM Hotels that had an investment of 8.2 million dollars by a group of local investors, which generated a monthly average of 400 direct and indirect jobs, it is focused on the market corporate, business and educational, and promises to be one of the cheapest hotels in the industry. The Colombian firm Arpro SA worked 30 months on this project, complying with all the biosafety protocols established for the sector.

The project, whose architectural design was in charge of the architect Andrés Posada, complied with the efficient standards in the handling of components and waste, which already allow to have the previous EDGE certification, (Excellent in Design for Greater Efficiencies, for its acronym in English) that promotes the construction of sustainable buildings in emerging markets, showing that environmental responsibility is correlated with smart businesses and which is expected to be completed after the start of operation of the hotel.
