Manuel Ambriz is the new Chief Commercial Officer of Avianca Holdings

The executive has 15 years of experience in the aviation industry and assumes the position from July 1

With almost 20 years of experience, 15 in the aviation industry, Manuel Ambriz assumes the position of Chief Commercial Officer of Avianca Holdings from July 1. His leadership will be key in the coming years, in which the recovery of the post-pandemic sector is expected and Avianca's new business vision is implemented: an airline where everyone flies at the best price, with a more robust network, a product adjusted to the expectation of the traveler and with the best punctuality.

“We are very happy with the arrival of Manuel to the team. He will bring a perspective aligned with the new vision of our airline and with the product that we seek to deliver to our customers, ”said Adrian Neuhauser, President and CEO of Avianca.

The work that Manuel will carry out will be key. The main challenges in his hands are: the successful implementation of the second phase of Vuela a tu Medida and the new distribution scheme, the strengthening of the portfolio of complementary products and services for passengers, as well as the enhancement of the digital strategy .

“Joining the Avianca team at this time is an interesting and exciting challenge. The company is getting closer to emerging from Chapter 11 and is focused on the implementation of its new business vision, circumstances that will allow it to confirm its leadership in the market, competing on prices, while enhancing its key attributes: a network like no other, differentiation of the cabin of its aircraft and a powerful loyalty program ”, commented Manuel Ambriz.

Manuel has extensive knowledge about the different business models that exist in the world of airlines, which will allow him to design and implement innovative strategies and processes for ticket sales, distribution schemes, revenue management, development of complementary products, e- commerce, among others.

For his part, Manuel added: “few airlines last more than a century as is the case with Avianca; the challenge is to adjust to the new reality and give the passenger what they really want without improvising in the fundamentals: service, connectivity and safety ”.

Previously, the Mexican-born executive served as Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Network and Alliances Officer of Vueling Airlines, Chief Commercial Officer of Viva Aerobus, Director of Strategy, Network and Planning of Volaris, Associate Consultant of Bain & Company, among others.
