A total of 601,278 national and international passengers have traveled through the Hub of the Americas
According to figures from the Tocumen International Airport, passenger traffic at the air terminal increased 24% in May compared to the figures obtained in April, with 601,278 domestic and international passengers - 145,014 more people passing through than last month.
This is due to factors such as the announced reactivation of several international airlines such as Avianca and Air France and Air Europa, as well as the increase in weekly flights by Copa Airlines and Iberia. Likewise, the cargo terminal handled 73,693 metric tons of merchandise and mail - an increase of 31.28% compared to the same period of the previous year.
"Panama has comparative advantages that make it a unique connection point in the region, with the best recovery conditions for air operations and, in turn, boosting other activities such as tourism and the logistics conglomerate", commented Raffoul Arab Pinzón, Manager General de Tocumen S, A. in a press release shared through the social networks of the main airport in the country.
