Viva Aerobus announces new flights from CDMX and Monterrey to Cozumel

These routes to the paradisiacal Mexican destination contribute to the reactivation of tourism for the summer

Viva Aerobus made today the first flight of its new regular Mexico City - Cozumel route. With a total of 120 passengers, flight VB1484 landed at 12:20 pm at the Cozumel International Airport, receiving, as an inauguration, the traditional baptism of the aircraft. With this event, the Cozumel - Monterrey summer route is also officially welcomed, which began on July 2 and today the second flight of this service will land at 100% of its capacity, that is, with 186 passengers.
 
“We are very pleased that Viva Aerobus continues to expand Cozumel's connectivity with these two new routes. Today more than ever it is necessary to expand transportation options at competitive prices to meet the needs of passengers and promote a key sector of the state economy such as tourism, always taking care of everyone's health ", said Darío Flota, director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo.

“The economic reactivation of Cozumel is progressing steadily and will be strengthened with the arrival of Viva Aerobus to the island, which becomes a key ally for the entire value chain of the tourism sector. With this route more people will be able to enjoy Cozumel, a destination that has the best prevention and hygiene measures to receive and take care of all visitors ”, explained Pedro Joaquín Delbouis, Municipal President of Cozumel.
 
With the inauguration of these new routes, Viva Aerobus reaffirms its leadership in Quintana Roo as the airline with the largest number of routes to / from Cancun with an offer of 32 routes: 24 national and 8 international. In addition, Viva also flies from Chetumal to Mexico City and now from Cozumel to two of the main cities in the country.

These new routes are designed to contribute to the bidirectional tourist and commercial impulse, mainly in this high summer season, taking care of the health and economy of passengers, in order to favor the economic spillover that this sector generates for the direct benefit of development and reactivation regional.
 
The flights will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft that are part of the youngest fleet in Mexico and the second youngest in all of North America, offering the highest standards in terms of safety, efficiency and reliability. Added to this are the disciplined protocols of the Viva Contigo program that include additional disinfection processes in aircraft, luggage and common areas, safe distance guidelines, use of face masks, availability of sanitizing gel, among many other actions.
