The hotel chain has begun construction of a 750-room property
The Viva Wyndham Resorts hotel chain began the construction of a 750-room hotel in Miches, in an act that was attended by President Luis Abinader.
The hotel, which will open its doors in 2023, will have an investment of RD $ 3,500 million in its first stage and will generate 500 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs, making Viva Wyndham Resorts the first company with Dominican capital to establish itself in the Miches area. .
Ettore Colussi, president of Viva Wyndham Resorts, said that for Viva Wyndham this hotel "is the banner of a new period of expansion in tourism in our country and the region that, in principle, adds us to the development of Miches" and later participate in the Pedernales tourism project, and in the international field, in Jamaica.
“Because we believe in the country's destinations and we trust the government that directs it, we are here today starting the first of the two hotels to be built in this tourist complex, which will have 750 rooms and an estimated investment of 3,500 million pesos in its first stage ”, detailed Colussi.
The president of the hotel chain explained that the property will start with a 486-room family hotel and then a second development of 264 units aimed at the adult market.
Colussi highlighted that Viva Wyndham and its partners are characterized by “being pioneers” in the history of Dominican tourism, “in the development of Bayahibe as a tourist destination, in the creation of one of the first all-inclusive hotel chains born in the Dominican Republic”, and "the first Dominican hotel company to establish itself abroad, in Mexico and the Bahamas."
Viva Resorts is also a pioneer in the adoption of sustainable practices such as the Blue Flag certification, the Cristal international certification, actions for the environment, including Solar Electric Generation Systems with Photovoltaic Panels in Samaná, Dominicus, Playa Dorada, Cabarete and the Bahamas.
Colussi explained that they are making this investment because “we believe in the present and future of our country as a successful tourist destination, and also because we are contagious by the enthusiasm with which President Luis Abinader assumes his role as leader, who has dedicated himself to putting the tourism ”as the engine that will restore dynamism to the Dominican economy.
The Viva Wyndham Miches hotel, in its first stage, will have three buildings of rooms, a pool area of 853 square meters, outdoor spaces, a building for commercial premises, a nightclub, a gym, an amphitheater with a capacity for 1,100 people, a room for events, a la carte and buffet restaurants, three bars and a café-ice cream parlor, and a space dedicated to the members of the Viva Club. The architectural design is by Antonio Imbert and the main construction firm is Kuky Silverio Industrial Ingeniería.
