Air Canada Vacations confirms more flights to Puerto Vallarta

The Mexican destination will receive 13 flights a week with an availability of more than 2,000 seats

Puerto Vallarta continues to pay routes in search of its recovery in the Canadian market, the second most important in the international plane prior to the pandemic, now with the announcement of the vacation subsidiary of the airline Air Canada, who shared the progress of its products for the next winter season with routes to different beaches among which Puerto Vallarta stands out, with direct flights from Vancouver with 5 weekly frequencies, Toronto with 4 operations, Calgary with 2 as well as Montreal, all of them starting in November.

With these new routes, Puerto Vallarta will receive 13 flights a week and potentially more than 2,000 seats to the International Airport, which seeks to recover its way in the arrival of international passengers.

Canada has maintained restrictions on leisure travel with its nationals after the start of the pandemic, and for this reason Mexico seeks to recover the second most important international market for the country.

In 2019, 2,296,061 Canadians visited Mexico, by 2020 there were only 948,319 tourists from that country, which represented a drop of 59%. For this 2021 only 33,871 visitors have come to our country from the country of the maple leaf with cut until the month of May.

Puerto Vallarta before the pandemic was the destination, through its International Airport, best connected in Latin America with a total of 16 Canadian cities with direct flights and the second in the country in reception of Canadian tourists. In 2019, 438,015 passengers visited our destination, in 2020 the first three months, the most important in operation, helped the closure of 198,230 tourists and for this 2021 the panorama continues to be low after the validity of the restriction measures in that country As of May of this year, only 4,714 Canadians have arrived.

With the staggered announcements of the 5 airlines that previously flew to the destination, confirming their return and the release of restrictions, Puerto Vallarta will seek to recover at least 10% of the number of visitors it had in 2019.

Partners and Travel Advisors Positive for Vaccination Progress in Canada; and frequent travelers in search of places with warm and cultural climates, will be eager to return to one of their favorite destinations, as has been announced by different platforms, including Expedia, which announced that Puerto Vallarta is among the main searches and destinations of Canadians.

Undoubtedly, with the arrival of Canadians in Puerto Vallarta, it will allow for a better closure of international arrivals to the destination, which together with its travel trends in which they stayed for 2 to 3 weeks in the destination, will also provide an excellent economic benefit to the entire tourist industry of the port.
