In this context, the private investment determined by the concessionaires will also receive support from Inprotur's international tourism promotion in the main markets that emit foreign visitors, such as Brazil, Colombia and the United States, among others, to continue consolidating the snow and ski product. .
In this sense, it should be noted that in this snow season, intended for national tourists, an exclusive service was enabled on the upper floor of the Lynch refuge for families with an all-inclusive system with a capacity of 40 people, in addition to the traditional service for skiers at 2,180 meters above sea level. There, Sosa and Perez Diez met with the people in charge of the shelter, Martin Diaz Varzilio and Maximiliano Martinez Almudevar.
With regard to the Masterplan works, the manufacture of the quadruple chairlifts that will make up one of the three new lifts has already begun in France and the foundations for these new lifts have already been laid on the hill.
Perez Diez explained that in this masterplan the project is based on creating a new spinal column in the center of the mountain, combining the technical manufacture of snow, the development of slopes and new lifts. The new state-of-the-art lifts will transport more people and enhance skiable surfaces, a new six-fold chairlift will be installed, two new four-way chairlifts and two double chairlifts will be re-functionalized, in addition to other works to guarantee snow from the Plaza sector to base.
He added that these works will be accompanied by the layout of a new track that unifies the circulation of the upper third to the base, guaranteeing the possibility of descending skiing.
For his part, Sosa stressed that “Cerro Catedral is the most developed ski resort in South America, it offers 1,200 skiable hectares that are divided into 60 slopes. In addition to this, it has forests and canyons that offer impressive views. These issues plus the works that have begun to develop will continue to position us as one of the leading countries in snow and ski tourism. The work that the Tourism and Ente areas of both Bariloche and Rio Negro have been doing to continue positioning this tourism product should also be highlighted”.
