These arrivals represent a boost for the tourism and cruise industry in the state and contribute to the economic reactivation of this sector by offering better job opportunities for the Yucatecans while confirming the confidence that this sector has towards Yucatan, due to the sanitary protocols that have been implemented and that allow the arrival of cruise passengers without major incidents.

Among the activities at the Seatrade Cruise Global 2021 event, the Yucatan delegation, headed by the director of the Technical Secretariat of Sefotur, held working meetings with executives and managers of important shipping lines, among which the meeting with Rick stands out. In addition, with the firm commitment to increase tourism in this destination, the State Government, in conjunction with the Progreso City Council, have developed actions to improve the urban and tourist infrastructure in the port. In order to expand commercial activity and encourage the arrival of visitors, sustainable tourism actions have been prioritized, an area that arouses great interest in the cruise industry.
