The Frontier Airlines plane called "Verde El Quetzal Resplandeciente" arrived in Guatemala

This aircraft completed its first flight to Guatemala City from Miami with a warm welcome at La Aurora International Airport (GUA)

Low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines celebrated the recently inaugurated flight to Guatemala City with a visit from “Verde el Quetzal Resplendent,” a new Airbus A320neo aircraft proudly featuring the Guatemalan national bird on its tail. This aircraft completed its first flight to Guatemala City from Miami with a warm welcome at La Aurora International Airport (GUA).

All Frontier Airlines aircraft feature a special animal on their tails with an emphasis on endangered animals. As the national bird of Guatemala, the "Resplendent Quetzal" also appears on its flag and coat of arms. These birds have been categorized as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUNC).

“We are very happy to bring our plane to Guatemala featuring the beautiful Quetzal,” said Alfredo Gonzalez, Frontier Airlines International Sales Manager. “We know what this extraordinary bird means to the people of Guatemala. "Green the Resplendent Quetzal" proudly flies within a network of more than 100 destinations "

Frontier began service to Guatemala City in April 2021 with two weekly nonstop flights from Miami. The airline operates more than 100 A320 aircraft, each with a different animal. The arrival of the plane was supported by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics and the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism.
