Meliá presents an exclusive program for travel agents

The Mexico and Dominican Republic properties offer a system of points redeemable for stays, flights and excursions for each traveler who stays at the Hotels

To promote tourism and reactivate the industry, hit after the pandemic, the Spanish chain Meliá Hotels International, the leading hotel company in Spain, launched the "Earn & Grow" program throughout Latin America and for its properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

The benefits program, which is already a success in the United States and Canada, consists of granting travel agents points that will be accumulated for the reservations of FIT & Leisure Groups, made through the platforms of the partners and Meliá Pro .

“With the points, travel agents can access flights, car rentals, stays in our properties, visits to our spas or dinners in our luxury restaurants. In addition, they can give away or transfer the points ”, explains Mitzi Torres, Leisure Director for Mexico and LATAM.

Points can be exchanged once the passenger is back and has completed their stay at any of the Meliá Hotels and Resorts, ME by Meliá, Gran Meliá Hotels and Resorts and Paradisus by Meliá properties in the Mexican or Dominican Caribbean.

The "Earn & Grow" program was launched only two months ago and the first numbers that predict 2022 can already be observed with the properties achieving numbers close to those obtained before the pandemic.

For example, from the strong Latin markets, 10,289 Argentines, 6,631 Brazilians, 5,074 Chileans and 4,193 Colombians passed through Meliá's properties in the Caribbean. Although these numbers are below those obtained in 2019, they prove that the tourism industry is being reactivated in the midst of the reopening of borders, vaccination and new health protocols.

“This program is our way of thanking travel agents for all the work they have done during these two difficult years. 'Earn & Grow' was tested in the United States and Canada with great success and Latin America seems to be going the same way. Belonging to a company like Meliá Hotels International is knowing that we are all part of a single concept in which both the traveler, the travel agents and those of us who work in chains around the world count on and can make a difference ”, concludes Torres Lemus.

Meliá Hotels International, a leading company in Spain and one of the largest hotel chains in the world, has become an international benchmark for responsible tourism, thanks to its strong commitment to the sustainable development of the destinations in which it operates and its firm positioning in the fight against climate change and the decarbonisation of the tourism sector. As a result, it has been recognized as one of the most sustainable hotel companies in the world by entities such as the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal or S&P Global.
