Bahia Principe Grand Tulum celebrates its first anniversary after its remodeling

In a clear commitment to innovation aimed at the continuous improvement of its products and services, the company carried out a comprehensive remodeling of its emblematic establishment

Grupo Piñero, a Spanish tourism company with more than 40 years of history, celebrates the first anniversary of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, after its reconceptualization and comprehensive reform carried out last year.

In the words of Ignacio Subias Cano, Country Manager in Mexico at Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts “Since we inaugurated the new Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, we have seen a significant increase in the level of satisfaction of our guests, which this year has risen 23.58 points compared to 2019 according to our Net Promoter Score tool ”. On the other hand, he stressed that “one of the things that are having the greatest impact among our visitors are the new entertainment proposals and specifically the Origen show, produced in-house, which has been refined to become one of the most attractive and sought-after by our guests upon arrival at the hotel ”.

Likewise, Antonio Teijeiro COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, has indicated that “This anniversary of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum has a very special meaning for the company, as we commemorate the reopening of our first hotel in Mexico, with We started operating more than 20 years ago and it has become one of the most emblematic establishments of our brand. " To which he added “last year we are committed to carrying out a profound reform of the facilities, as well as a comprehensive change in the hotel's image under the concept of“ origin ”to continue adding value to the tourism sector through our reinvestment policy. For this we invested a total of 40 million dollars in the remodeling of the facilities of this hotel ”.

Since its reopening last November 2020 and despite the unfavorable context caused by the Covid-19 crisis, the hotel has managed to maintain good occupancy levels initially driven by the local and US market. As the situation has improved worldwide and mobility restrictions have been eased, visits have been received from other important source markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada, among others.

Bahia Principe Grand Tulum: a year contributing to local development
After celebrating the first anniversary of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to local communities and the environment. In this way, Grupo Piñero has actively contributed to the preservation of natural resources and the sustainable management of the territory where the hotel is located, through its Comprehensive Coastal Management Plan (PGIL) launched by the company in 2019 .

A project that is developed in three areas of action: the socioeconomic environment, the beach-dune system and the aquatic environment. Through four programs, water, biodiversity, landscape and beaches, Grupo Piñero articulates actions to contribute to the conservation of the natural capital of destinations.

Specifically, the company has started the Coastal Restoration Plan in Riviera Maya, Mexico, within the framework of the 'Beaches' program, through which it has carried out work on the beach-dune system, recovering 600 meters of dune so far.
