Catalonia Hotels & Resorts receives recognition for its commitment to inclusive tourism

For the fifth consecutive year, the National Disability Council (CONADIS) delivered the “RD Includes” Seal in its 2021 version, where the Catalonia Bávaro Beach, Catalonia Royal Bávaro, Catalonia Gran Dominicus, Catalonia Royal La Romana and Catalonia hotels were recognized Santo Domingo, for its good practices in favor of the inclusion of people with disabilities.

The evaluation criteria is based on the analysis of 7 areas: Work, Education, Universal Accessibility, Health, Awareness / Awareness, Justice, Participation and Knowledge Production. The Recognition Categories are Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Thanks to the actions implemented in favor of the inclusion of people with disabilities and the following good practices: raising awareness of employees about service to people with visual disabilities at the Catalonia Santo Domingo hotel and the implementation of a braille menu in the theme restaurants of the resorts and Filigrana Restaurant; the chain has managed to be recognized in the following areas:

Universal Accessibility category in Catalonia Bávaro Beach, Catalonia Royal Bávaro, Catalonia Complejo Gran Dominicus, Catalonia Royal La Romana, silver recognition and Catalonia Santo Domingo have received gold in the Awareness / Awareness category and silver in the Universal Accessibility category.

hotels Catalonia Hotels in the Dominican Republic have marked parking lots, rooms fully adapted for people with motor disabilities, these have large spaces, a bed at a suitable height and an adapted bathroom with support bars. Likewise, all hotels have ramps in the different areas so that customers with reduced mobility or wheelchairs can move easily through common areas, bars, restaurants, beach, among others.

In addition, guests with motor disabilities have areas designed and reserved to use the beach, lounge chairs and amphibious chairs. These adaptations make it easier for guests to enter the beach or pool, without barriers. Likewise, the bathrooms located in common areas have support bars and accessible spaces for visitors.
