Radisson Hotel Group Americas signs its first property in Suriname

The opening of the Radisson Hotel Paramaribo is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023

Radisson Hotel Group Americas announced the signing of the international license agreement for Radisson Hotel Paramaribo with the owner group Kersten Hotelmaatschappij NV, a wholly owned subsidiary of C. Kersten in Co. NV. The Kersten Group was founded in 1768 and is an established, diversified and sustainable Group of companies in the Republic of Suriname, located in the northern part of South America.

The license agreement marks the arrival of Radisson Hotel Group Americas' first hotel in Suriname and illustrates the company's continued strategic growth focus in South America. The hotel's location in the country's capital, Paramaribo, is close to the Suriname River and the North Atlantic coast, with beautiful Dutch colonial architecture and vibrant culture.

Ahead of its planned opening in the second quarter of 2023, the hotel is undergoing an extensive $ 8 million renovation to bring state-of-the-art amenities and sleek modern design to its guests.

The hotel will offer 126 rooms, including suites. Guests will be able to enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, a Fitness Center and the brand's exclusive RBG restaurant. The hotel will also serve as meeting and special event space in its multipurpose room and conference rooms. Located in the center of Paramaribo, the hotel is within walking distance of the downtown shopping area, restaurants and bars. In addition, it is close to the Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge, which crosses the Suriname River and connects the districts of Paramaribo and Commewijne. The 1,504 meter long bridge offers incredible views of the Suriname River and the capitol.
