Royal Caribbean adds new southern restaurant and bar on Wonder of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International brings tableside adventure aboard the world's newest wonder,  Wonder of the Seas,  introducing a lineup of more than  20 restaurants  headlined by the debut of The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar. Sailing in March 2022, families and travelers also have an unparalleled array of flavors in store, from Italian classics at Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar to American sports bar favorites at Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade. , to New England-inspired dishes at Hooked Seafood.

Where southern comfort food meets Royal Caribbean hospitality, The Mason Jar invites guests to share a meal, drinks and memories in a warm and casual atmosphere. Every detail showcases southern charm at the new specialty restaurant, and the setting is rustic, farmhouse-style décor, live country music, even a cozy front porch adorned with a swing for lounging and a great photo op, and a dedicated bar in the center of it all.

On the menu are southern staples and new twists on classics that the whole family can enjoy for brunch, dinner and late-night snacks, starting with freshly baked buttermilk biscuits and jalapeño cornbread. Brunch favorites range from savory flatbreads topped with pulled pork to the Sweet-Tooth Cinnamon Roll. During dinner, highlights include Fried Green Tomatoes, Authentic Southern Fried Chicken, Crab Fritters served with Lump Crab Sauce and Shrimp and Grits. And for a sweet ending, there's everything from traditional cakes to spiked floats and milkshakes. Plus, to keep the good times going, there's a robust collection of more than a dozen American whiskeys and a line of Southern spirits, like the classic mint julep dusted with powdered sugar and the Mississippi Moonlight, served in a chilled mason glass made with blackberry brandy, blackberries and lime juice. Whether at a table for a family dinner or at the bar for a bite to eat, drinks and live music, The Mason Jar will be a hotspot day and night.

The Mason Jar is just the beginning, with Wonder offering a variety of restaurants, bars and lounges to choose from in eight unique neighborhoods. From Central Park to the new Suite Neighborhood – a first in the Oasis Class – more dining highlights on the next ship include:

• The Vue - The happiest happy hour can be found at this new bar on a floating platform. The Vue offers sweeping views of the ocean during the day, and after sunset it glows brightly with a colorful mosaic canopy overhead.
• Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar - It's a daily family event at Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, the first on an Oasis-class ship. Authentic, freshly made staples are on the menu, from handmade pizzas to charcuterie boards and beef meatballs, to an extensive wine and cocktail list, including Aperol Spritz and Negroni.
• Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade - This popular spot brings guests of all ages to watch the big game on dozens of big-screen TVs, battle it out in friendly competition in the arcade, and munch on bar food and cold draft beers.
• El Loco Fresh and Cantina Fresca - the go-to spot for Mexican delicacies such as made-to-order tacos, burritos and quesadillas, now debuts a dedicated bar called Cantina Fresca serving a selection of "aguas frescas", margaritas and other typical Mexican items.
• The Lime & Coconut - This exclusive pool deck experience is at the heart of Caribbean vibes, with multiple poolside bars and live music.

Vacationers can also enjoy more options including Wonderland, Asian-inspired flavors at Izumi, Chops Grille American Steakhouse, seasonal American dishes at 150 Central Park, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, Sugar Beach and more. Whatever the mood of a day on board, Wonder presents a culinary line-up that caters to guests and their diverse palates. Across the ship, travelers can also complement their meal with a unique array of Caribbean-inspired beverages, bold and energetic classics, and even mocktails as part of Royal Caribbean's reimagined beverage menus.
