Minister of Tourism of Brazil participates in meetings within the framework of Fitur

Gilson Machado Neto maintained has met virtually with ministers from other countries to align alliances

The Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto, participated this Wednesday (19.01), virtually, in meetings held by the president of Embratur, Carlos Brito, at Fitur, in Madrid (Spain). The Brazilian delegation is attended by the head of the Special Advisory, Rafael Luisi, and the head of the International Relations Advisory, Ambassador Jorge Kadri.

Fitur is the largest tourism fair in the Ibero-American market and the second largest in the world, bringing together thousands of companies and visitors. Embratur's stand in the premises has 305 square meters and brings some of the beauties and experiences that tourists will have when visiting Brazil.

Representatives from Embratur and the Ministry of Tourism met, at Fitur's Brazilian stand, with ministers and representatives of companies and the press from several countries. Among the commitments, they met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Mozambique, Eldevina Materula, to align the exchange of experiences, alliances and joint campaigns for the sector.

Eldevina congratulated Brazil for winning the UNWTO regional office for the Americas and declared that she had voted for our country because of “all the historical connections that our countries have”. For her, there is much in common between the nations. "We can strengthen our alliance for the promotion and training in Tourism," he said.

The Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto, participated in the meeting via teleconference and stressed that the closeness between the two countries can increase more and more. "We are going to analyze what bottlenecks exist in order to expand the tourist flow, especially in air connectivity," he said.

Another meeting this Wednesday was with the Uruguayan minister, Tabaré Vieira, to discuss advances in alliances, including Mercosur agendas, such as the Jesuit Route Route. Minister Gilson Machado Neto, via telephone, reinforced Brazil's efforts to strengthen ties between the countries. President Carlos Brito also met with the former Minister of Tourism of Argentina and national deputy, Gustavo Santos, to analyze the post-pandemic scenario of the sector. Machado Neto participated by telephone.

In the morning, Embratur and MTur would meet with Glauco Fuzinatto, president of the Visit Brazil Travel Association (VBRATA), a non-profit European association that aims to promote Brazil and brings together operators and businesses that send tourists to our country. At the meeting, they discussed the proposal for roadshows, seminars and events to train operators and promote Brazil abroad.

The president of Embratur, Carlos Brito, gave interviews to the Spanish radio station Onda Cero, from Almería, and to CNN. Brito highlighted the promotion of Brazil abroad and stressed that the country is ready to receive international tourists. "Brazil has all kinds of tourism and is certainly prepared to welcome and delight foreign visitors," he said.
