Civitatis and AMAV sign an agreement to promote Mexican travel agencies

The deal will allow Mexican tourism companies to offer the best catalog of activities in Spanish worldwide, at the most competitive price

Civitatis redoubles its commitment to the Mexican tourism market by signing an agreement with AMAV, the most important official association of travel agencies in Mexico: with 1,800 affiliated organizations that will be added to the program. This alliance will contribute to the recovery of the tourism industry by creating a wealth of opportunities for Mexican travel agencies. On the one hand, it will allow the issuing companies of clients to offer a selected catalog of products in Spanish from more than 65,000 activities throughout the world at the best price. On the other hand, receptive tourism companies will be able to publicize their products on the platform most used by Spanish-speaking travelers in the world.

With this alliance, Civitatis seeks to generate a synergy with Mexican tourism agencies, which will provide the necessary boost to the economy of the largest destinations in the country. Likewise, AMAV foresees that this first semester of the year, the number of national and international travelers will increase. It should be noted that Mexico remained an open and safe destination for world tourism, managing to keep Cancun and Mexico City among the most visited cities in 2021, according to the travel information platform, ForwardKeys.

Likewise, Civitatis seeks to strengthen its presence in the Mexican market, which is currently the most relevant in Latin America. The company already has more than 80 destinations and 913 activities in the country: 139,000 travelers have used its services. Mexico was the sixth destination with the most reservations on the platform, with 30,000 visitors in 2021 after Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and the United States.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the Spanish International Tourism Fair, Fitur, which took place in Madrid from January 19 to 23 at the IFEMA convention center. Through video call and following the Mexican government protocol, Eduardo Paniagua, president of AMAV Nacional, granted the power of signature to the delegate representative Juan Lozano, president of the subsidiary in Jalisco, who together with our CEO, Alberto Gutiérrez Pascual, signed the document .

AMAV, founded in 1945, is the first organization in Mexico and Latin America responsible for uniting and grouping retail, wholesale, receptive and issuing agencies, as well as franchises dedicated to the intermediation of tourist services, with the aim of developing and supporting the sector. It has 32 subsidiaries nationwide that seek to develop business opportunities for the network of companies that comprise it, as well as promote Mexican tourist destinations both nationally and internationally.
