NH Hotel Group bets on electric mobility in Chile

The Spanish hotel chain joins the Volvo Enel X project to promote electromobility

NH Hotel Group announces the installation of an electric charging station in partnership with Volvo and Enel X. This year, Enel X signed an agreement with the Volvo company for the supply and installation of electric chargers for each sale of its electric vehicles. In this way, NH Collection Plaza Santiago becomes part of the Enel X electric route, since the objective of this entire program is to install a charging point every 75 km.

“We are very proud to inaugurate, together with Hotel NH Collection Plaza Santiago and Enel X, the installation of our first double charger, through an alliance that will allow us to be closer to all those who drive electrified vehicles. At Volvo Cars we set out to be a 100% electric brand when we reach the next decade and the installation of a charging network throughout the country is a very important step for the development of electro-mobility in Chile”, said Andrés Román , commercial manager of Volvo Cars Chile.

For NH Hotel Group, sustainability is a strategic value, and with this installation we confirm that the group continues to invest in innovation to develop eco-efficient solutions.” Our vision of sustainability at NH Hotel Group: we take care of our customers; the destinations where our hotels are located and the planet we live on”, says Carla Amado – Director of NH Collection Plaza Santiago.

This is in line with the company's first sustainability plan that has reduced energy consumption by 30.8% per room and this reduction has been possible thanks to the sustainable measures implemented by the Company.

NH Hotel Group has had a global standard for sustainable mobility since 2014 and since 2018 it has offered electric mobility recharging services. Currently, NH has charging points for electric cars installed in 48 hotels around the world.
