With the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean fused with the eco-integrative architecture that characterizes its hotels, Grupo Xcaret offered this weekend two magical nights of art, music and sophistication to celebrate the opening of the Xcaret Arte Hotel, which began operations in last July but that, due to the pandemic, could not be celebrated; and on the other hand, the official inauguration of the group's third hotel, La Casa de la Playa.
At the "Playón de la Música", a space designed to elevate the soul through dance and music at the Xcaret Arte Hotel, the internationally renowned orchestra director Alondra de la Parra presented the sublime musical show, Olé México, composed of a first-class cast: Lila Downs, Mane de la Parra, Mexican singer and actor, Buika, Spanish flamenco singer, and fellow Andalusian flamenco and soul singer, Pitingo.
The musical ensemble gave way to the last fashion event of the year, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico, which took advantage of the extraordinary setting to celebrate its 15th anniversary of extolling local design and presented the designer's distinguished Nanoush brands on its catwalks. Chef Jonathan Gómez Luna, creator of “Chino Poblano”, is the leader of a new generation of chefs who have conquered the great tables of the world. Oaxacan Cantina “VI.AY.PY” by Chef Alex Ruíz, the most important spokesperson for the culinary culture of that southern state. “Kibi-Kibi” mixes Yucatecan and Lebanese cuisines by renowned international Chef Roberto Solís, a gastronomic reference from his native Yucatan. “Mercado de San Juan” showcases the flavors of the towns of Mexico curated by Chef Juan Licerio. The "Cayuco" is a cuisine of Mediterranean and Mexican flavors by Chef Franco Maddalozzo, an Italian celebrity who makes magic with his seasoning. "Tah-Xido" is a contemporary Japanese restaurant by Chef Luis Arzapalo exposing the best of oriental gastronomic art. “Arenal”, Chef Orlando Trejo's Comfort Food kitchen, celebrating gastronomy with regional ingredients. And finally Chef Miguel Bautista with the best of vegan cuisine that will be integrated as an option in the different restaurants of the group. La Casa de la Playa offered a cocktail by the sea, followed by a pairing dinner with times prepared by the most outstanding chefs in Mexico and the world: Chefs Martha Ortiz, Virgilio Martínez, Rodrigo, Daniel and Patricio Rivera-Río and the renowned sommelier Sandra Fernández, who attended the guests. The evening was enlivened by the exquisiteness of the best world artist César Secundino who delighted the guests with his harp. The opening festivities of La Casa de la Playa closed with a flourish at the hands of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico with the presentations of the collections by Alfredo Martínez and Carla Fernández. As part of this new culinary epicenter of the Riviera Maya, these chefs open four restaurants in La Casa de la Playa.
