Viva Aerobus presents its Airbus a320 with the image of the San Antonio Spurs

The aircraft will cross the skies of Mexico and the United States making around 2 thousand flights a year

As part of its sponsorship of the San Antonio Spurs, Viva Aerobus presented its Airbus A320 aircraft, registration XA-VIW, with the image and name of this NBA basketball team at the Monterrey International Airport.

Said aircraft will cross the skies of Mexico and the United States, making around 2,000 flights a year, to become the ambassador of a team that has more than 90 million fans around the world. In this regard, it stands out that the Spurs are positioned as the sixth NBA team preferred by Mexicans - around 5 million - and also as the sixth professional team with the most followers of the Hispanic community in the United States.

“We want the first flight in this aircraft to be a memorable and special experience for everyone, both for the passengers and for all those who will watch us cross the sky. It is an honor for our organization to be able to unite our fans and communities in Mexico and the United States through this agreement with Viva Aerobus,” said Katrina Palanca, Vice President of Global Partnerships for Spurs Sports and Entertainment.

This plane also transmits to thousands of passengers the objective and values behind the alliance between Viva Aerobus and Los Spurs, that is, the promotion of sports and healthy recreation; as well as the relevance of teamwork, discipline and excellence that both organizations seek.

The placement of the design of this aircraft was carried out in Guadalajara and seven experts participated, including engineers and technicians, in a process that lasted five days. This work was carried out using the technique of printing with ultraviolet light on a decal-type film (3M scotchcal film), certified by the airport authority, and then sticking said stickers on the plane.

“We are proud to be the first Mexican sponsor of the San Antonio Spurs and to work hand in hand to promote the sport and unite all the fans of this great team in Mexico and the United States. And, at the same time, we offer our passengers a unique experience when flying in an aircraft that brings them closer to the emotion of basketball”, said Karla Vargas, Marketing Director of Viva Aerobus.

It is also the first time that Viva supports an American team, a decision made in line with its vision of being the most fun airline in the Americas. In addition, it highlights that Viva Aerobus is the international airline, at the San Antonio Airport, with the widest range of flights, operating three routes to Mexico City, Monterrey and León.
