CATA launches campaign to promote destinations at Easter

The initiative will have a focus on religious, vacation and gastronomic tourism

According to data from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in 2021 tourism grew by 4% worldwide, the Americas recorded one of the best results compared to 2020 with a 17% increase, but particularly Central America and the Republic The Dominican Republic stood out with a significant rebound of 54%.

In this sense, 2022 is shaping up to be the year of the real beginning of the full recovery of tourism and the travel industry, accompanied by a vigorous return of leisure agendas where the most important holiday seasons of the year recover their potential to attract tourism.

That is why the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) runs a campaign called "Your Holy Week in Central America and the Dominican Republic", within the framework of the Holy Week holiday season with a focus on tourism. religious, vacation and gastronomic; promoting living culture and nature as great axes for attracting travellers.  

The campaign is divided into three phases with which it seeks to arouse interest to resume vacation plans with levels of relative normality, close to 2019, thus influencing the travel decision of tourists.
Likewise, the promotion of star destinations of each country is carried out, which together make up a multi-destination of exceptional and complementary experience, thus promoting local culture, gastronomy, adventure, colonial cities, magical towns, nature, Sun and beach.

In addition, CATA has made available to travelers extensive information on the most peculiar traditions of the time, a list of the airlines that operate in the region, transportation services, as well as the most up-to-date travel requirements to enter Central America and the Dominican Republic.
