Domestic tourism in Colombia exceeds 2019 figures

The recovery of air connectivity has been one of the great bets for the country, within the framework of the economic reactivation. "This is great news, because it was 2019 when record figures were presented in tourism, and seeing that we are beginning to overcome them, fills businessmen and travelers with optimism, after this epidemiological situation that paralyzed the sector for months," said Paula Cortes Calle, executive president of ANATO.
In the case of the movement of passengers on domestic flights, in the first two months of the year, a growth of 24% has been achieved, with 5,035,530 registrations, compared to the 4,062,890 revealed for the same months of 2019.
The Top 10 destination cities represent 88% of total passenger arrivals on domestic flights in the country, and within these, some of the fastest growing are: Bogotá (13%), Rionegro - Antioquia (31%, ), Cartagena (22%), Cali (49%), Santa Marta (48%) and San Andrés (60%).
“With this, a possibility is opened for the entry of more routes and frequencies that allow a better air connection for the country, and in this way boost the national market and also attract more travelers from abroad to discover our destinations more,” he added. the union leader.
