JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo opens with a concept focused on mindfulness

The property brings luxury and inspiration to the Parque da Cidade region, in the heart of the largest Brazilian metropolis

JW Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy's extraordinary portfolio of 30 hotel brands, has just announced the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo, Marriott International's first luxury hotel in the city. An ideal refuge for travelers in one of the busiest commercial centers in the great metropolis, the JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo brings to the city its principles focused on mindfulness to serve people who seek to nourish body, mind and soul.

“JW Marriott is known for combining luxurious lodging with the mindfulness principles that are inherent to the traveler, both leisure and business,” says Bruce Rohr, Global Brand Leader for the brand. Located in the largest Brazilian city, the JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo offers a modern and luxurious environment, focused on well-being, to travelers from both segments looking for an urban retreat.

It features 258 rooms and suites with stylish contemporary decor, bespoke furniture and top-notch entertainment options. Among the attractions are Bar Caju, open for guests and visitors to enjoy good drinks prepared with fresh ingredients, and Neto, an Italian restaurant with global inspirations. Other options are the spa, which offers various types of therapies, the beautiful swimming pool and the complete fitness center, equipped with the most modern equipment.

“We are very happy with the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo, our first luxury hotel in the city. It expands our presence in the country, reinforces our commitment and vision for the region, and complements our existing portfolio with a renowned global luxury brand, sought after by sophisticated and conscious travelers looking for superior service”, said Brian King, President of Marriott International for the Caribbean and Latin America.

inspiring design

The JW Marriott São Paulo project was conceived based on extensive research on Brazilian architecture, landscaping, handicrafts and natural resources, aiming to prioritize the use of national materials in its construction. The renowned North American architectural firm HKS developed and made possible the personalized design of all the hotel's circulation spaces, rooms and suites. The landscaping was designed by architect Sérgio Santana, who prioritized trees from the Atlantic forest and the flora of the natural biome to attract native birds and animals.

The lobby is decorated with a unique installation of optical fibers and crystals, representing a starry sky, and works of art created by renowned Brazilian artist Burle Marx and São Paulo-based painter and designer Antônio Malta.

“The JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo is an oasis in the heart of the city. The property will offer programs that promote the care of the mind, the nourishment of the body and the revitalization of the soul. In addition, it seeks to redefine the concept of luxury in the metropolis by offering world-class service, authentic local culture and a well-deserved break from the surrounding concrete forest,” says Rosana Okamoto, General Manager of the JW Marriott Hotel São Paulo.

Subtle touches provide moments of relaxation and reflection, such as an art installation that represents a stream of water — a reference to the Pinheiros River, which passes in front of the property. Circulation spaces, rooms and suites are decorated with an exclusive selection of works of art by renowned Brazilian artists.
