President Silvio Nascimento leads the delegation that participates in the Arabian Travel Market, one of the largest business tourism events in the Asian continent
Embratur (Brazilian Agency for the International Promotion of Tourism) is in Dubai, where it has an agenda aimed at attracting more travelers from the United Arab Emirates, an emerging market with great potential for the country. This Tuesday (05/10), the delegation led by the president of Embratur, Silvio Nascimento, visited the Arabian Travel Market – ATM, one of the largest business tourism events on the Asian continent.
The ATM takes place in Dubai until next Thursday (12/05) and presents the news of international companies related to the sectors of Hotels, Airlines, Car Rental, Tour Operators, Trains and Tourism in General.
In a meeting with members of the Dubai Economy and Tourism, the local Ministry of Tourism, Nascimento reinforced that, since 2018, there is a bilateral agreement signed between Brazil and the United Arab Emirates, which eliminates the requirement of a visa to enter the countries. , which facilitates the flow of tourists.
“We want to establish a win-win relationship with the Dubai market. In other words, we are going to invest in the promotion of our destinations and we will have a guaranteed return with the increase in tourism between the countries”, said the president of Embratur, during the meeting with Issam Kazim, general director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Marketing, and Cibele Moulin, regional director for America, Spain and Portugal.

According to data from Dubai Economy and Tourism, Brazil is part of the Top-20 of countries that send travelers to Dubai. In the first three months of 2022 alone, more than 40,000 Brazilians were in the Asian country.
Given the scenario of mutual interest between the countries, Embratur and Economy and Tourism of Dubai must sign a Memorandum of Understanding to align actions between the institutions for the promotion of Brazil in the Asian city.
Data collected by Embratur's Market Intelligence and Competitiveness Management show that the influx of tourists from the Asian continent has grown. In April 2022 there was an increase in connectivity, flights and seats, compared to the same period in 2021. An increase of 55.56% (from 77 to 120 flights) and 93.73% in seats (from 25,830 to 50,040 seats).) At the end of this year, in November, flights from Galeão airport, in Rio de Janeiro, are scheduled to return to Dubai.

Also during the fair, Silvio Nascimento met with the representatives of Visit Abu Dhabi in Europe and America, Luisa Sakirow and Husain Ali Al Hashemite. As in the negotiations with Dubai, the president of Embratur seeks to negotiate an institutional exchange as a way to promote Brazil in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. On the occasion, Nascimento presented the Press Trip planning that Embratur will soon promote with journalists and influencers from the United Arab Emirates and extended the invitation to the members of Visit Abu Dhabi to learn more about Brazil's tourism potential.
