For his part, Martínez valued the importance of the Mexican market in promoting Santo Domingo as a tourist destination for having a wide variety of leisure, culture, nightlife, history, gastronomy and MICE tourism.
The Fam Trip was organized by the director of the Tourism Promotion Office (OPT) for Mexico, Carolina Pérez, with the support of the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster and Hotel Association (AHSD).
According to the director of the OPT of Mexico, this action is in order to bring Mexican operators closer to the tourist offer of the Dominican Republic in general, taking as a starting point the capital Santo Domingo, a direct destination from Mexico City. .
He affirmed that for Mexicans it is very important to combine the option of culture and city in poles such as Santo Domingo, La Romana, Punta Cana and Samaná, after assuring that “this fam trip visit helps position us as a complete destination, including ecotourism , nature, luxury, golf, events, congresses and incentives and others”.
He also highlighted the importance of this visit in showing the hotel, financial and commercial infrastructures, as well as air, sea and road connectivity, with easy access to all complementary tourist destinations.
Among the delegation of wholesale travel executives from that nation was Adriana Hernández Nava, Sales Manager of Viajes Palacio; and representatives of Viajes El Corte Inglés (Mexico).
Likewise, Erick Laris, head of production at Operadora Punta del Este. This company specializes in incentive trips, conventions, congresses, with extensive experience in all destinations in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
It also had the visit by Aeroméxico of Mari Carmen López, Charter and Tour & Travel Aeroméxico coordinator and Roberto Maldonado for Aeroméxico Vacations.
Arturo Javier Galicia, general director of Concierge Travel & Life and Miguel Galicia, general director of Travel Shop Operadora, among others, also attended the fam trip of Mexican operators to the country.

The inspections of the different services and exclusivities that Santo Domingo's hotel offer has continued at the Renaissance Jaragua, Sheraton Santo Domingo, and Barceló Lina hotels, concluding at the spectacular 21-story Catalonia hotel located on the capital's boardwalk.
Mexican market recovers almost 100 percent
The director of the OPT of Mexico revealed that after the complete recovery obtained by the Dominican Republic as a result of the hard work of the Tourism Cabinet, and recognized by the World Tourism Organization, it has been accompanied by the rapid recovery of the Mexican market almost at a 100 percent.
"Right now we maintain the numbers we had in 2019, recovering almost 100 percent, while between 2017 and 2019 we grew 56 percent, a market that has remained stable and growing steadily," said Carolina Pérez.
