Mama Shelter will open a property in Medellin

This hotel will have 150 rooms, more than 3,000 square meters for coworking spaces and a special rooftop

Ennismore, the fastest growing lifestyle hotel company, announces its latest signing in Colombia, with Mama Shelter Medellín. With an opening date scheduled for 2026, the hotel will be the brand's first in Colombia and will be in the heart of the El Poblado neighborhood.

The 150-room property will house everything Mama Shelter is famous for: an energetic restaurant and bar space, more than 3,000 square meters of coworking space, 500 square meters of meeting rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool in the first floor terrace and a special rooftop.

Cedric Gobilliard, Director of Operations for the Mama Shelter brand at Ennismore, said: “We are very excited to bring Mama Shelter to a city as energetic and iconic as Medellin. It offers both international travelers and local communities a place to stay, eat and be entertained, and we can't wait to open our doors and offer the unique experience we're known for."

The new Mama Shelter will be located within a mixed-use development in Medellín, which includes commercial, office and coworking spaces, allowing guests to live, work and play during their stay in one of the most promising cities and innovators from Colombia. Medellín is renowned for its nightlife, with a wide range of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Just a 10-minute walk away, tourists can enjoy areas such as Manila, Parque Lleras, Provenza and Patio Bonito.

This project, with an estimated investment of 30 million dollars, will be developed by the DALVAL INVERSIONES fund, a real estate manager of Colombian origin that, together with Skema Promotora and Macca, capitalizes on the talent and experience of companies from the Valley and Antioquia in the structuring and development of this modern property.

“Expanding in Colombia with this promising project and the global strength of our Mama Shelter brand means that we are providing more and more unique and diverse lodging experiences within the sector. Medellín being an excellent city to enjoy, explore and get to know”, added Franck Pruvost, COO Hispanic Countries Accor.

Mama Shelter is part of Ennismore, a global collective of lifestyle hospitality brands, which was formed in 2021 as a joint venture between Sharan Pasricha and Accor. Ennismore currently has four operating properties in South America, including JO&JOE Medellin and Rio de Janeiro, SLS Puerto Madero, and properties in the pipeline including TRIBE Belo Horizonte and SLS Punta Del Este.

Mama Shelter was born in 2008 in Paris as a concept developed by Serge Trigano and his two sons, Jérémie and Benjamin. It is a place to live life to the fullest: affordable, irreverent, popular, daring and sexy. A haven that Mama has created for her guests. Like a mother who takes care of her children, Mama takes care of travelers, now with 15 hotels, spread over 14 cities in 9 countries and 3 continents.
