CDMX and Michoacán strengthen ties with Aeroméxico

This September 19, the CDMX-Morelia flight of the Mexican airline reopens

Prior to the reopening of the CDMX – Morelia route on September 19, the state government through the Ministry of Tourism and the airline Aeroméxico signed an agreement which seeks to position and strengthen the state of Michoacán as a destination competitive in Mexico and the world.

Roberto Monroy García, Secretary of State Tourism recalled that, since the beginning of his administration last November, the Governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, promised to take the necessary steps to promote connectivity in Michoacán, as an essential requirement to strengthen its place in Mexico's tourist offer in the national and international market.

At a press conference with national media, they announced that the headquarters of the flight in the country's capital will be the "Benito Juárez" International Airport, in Mexico City, and they stressed that, put into perspective, the service represents uploading Michoacán to a network of connectivity that includes 92 routes, of which 50 are in the national market.

José Zapata, Vice President of Sales Mexico of Aeroméxico commented: We are very excited to present the reopening of the Mexico City – Morelia route, which began in 2007 and that due to the pandemic we had to temporarily suspend; That is why we are proud to be able to return to a destination that gave us so much for many years. And he added: Thanks to the support provided by the authorities and the hard work that we will do, we are very confident that this restart of operations will be a great success.

They confirmed that the return of the airline to Michoacán is intended to encourage travel to the region, strengthen Tourism for Meetings, Congresses and Conventions, as well as motivate events of national and international stature.

The CDMX-Morelia service that begins this September 19 will have two daily frequencies and will be operated with Embraer 190 equipment.

The return of Aeroméxico, air connectivity, the frequency of flights and the number of participating airlines, constitutes a piece of the highest value for the competitiveness of destinations.
