The city carries out days of awareness, safety, decoration and road organization to anticipate the possible arrival of large tourist tributaries
Within the framework of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the Puerto Plata Destination Tourism Cluster (CTDPP) and the Mayor's Office of the municipality of San Felipe de Puerto Plata held a public-private meeting with a broad representation of competent authorities from the sector, to follow up on the organization issues of the city, previously identified for the next high season of tourism in which more than 300 cruise ships are expected.
It was explained that, in the month of October, the Cluster, together with the Mayor's Office and the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP), will carry out an awareness program, which will consist of a series of training days to train residents of the sectors with the highest incidence in tourist activity; and also training actions for community managers so that they are multipliers of the message and can give continuity to the mission.
This work session was positively valued by all the participants, since it has allowed reinforcing the destination's development intentions shared by both the public and private sectors with an impact on the tourism value chain. They established that on Wednesday, October 5, they will meet again to report on the progress made to that date.
