Adventure Travel World Summit had the participation of 700 professionals from the world tourism sector
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) pointed out that our country continues to consolidate itself as an ideal destination for adventure tourism, after its participation in the Adventure Travel World Summit 2022, which took place from 03 to October 6 in Lugano, Switzerland.
The current edition hosted around 700 professionals from the world tourism sector related to the adventure tourism segment, especially from the North American market.
During the event, the national delegation had the opportunity to access cutting-edge content in the field, as well as expand their network of contacts and generate potential business opportunities with tour operators globally.
US market potential
It should be noted that due to the pandemic, the interest of travelers in the search for open spaces has grown, which represents a great opportunity to promote adventure tourism in Peru.
According to the 2019 Foreign Tourist Profile prepared by PROMPERÚ, the United States market is the first issuer of adventure vacationers to our country with a 25.8% share.
And according to the Travel Styles Potential American Vacationer 2021 study, the potential traveler shows a greater interest in adventure activities and outdoor sports.
Likewise, in terms of international arrivals, the US market has shown a great recovery. From January to August of this year, there was a growth of 298% compared to the same period in 2021, which corresponds to the arrival of 304,765 Americans.
