The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, stressed that, although tourism data is favorable, it is important to work on the innovation of the tourism product and services to increase the flow of tourists, and, therefore, the occupation of our lodging centers.
Leading the pre-inauguration of the i-421 Live District Roma-Condesa Mexico City hotel complex, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) announced some of the projects in which the unit in charge is working, which range from in line with the new needs of the post-pandemic traveler.

He pointed out that they are sites that combine various elements and make them unique: history, culture, gastronomy, products and services, as well as the coexistence of the local population with visitors; to discover the “spirit” and essence of a city; with which the diversification of the tourist destinations of our country will be favored, through a joint effort of Sectur with the state, municipal and local governments.
The Secretary of Tourism also pointed out that it is essential to improve air connectivity, with various infrastructure works, such as the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), which currently has between 62 and 66 daily operations and it is estimated that, in December of this year, amount to 100 operations per day.
“Three months ago, Sectur, in coordination with the Mexican company Mobility ADO, launched the Turitour route: CDMX-AIFA and its museums-Teotihuacán-CDMX, which includes a tour of the airport facilities and the Mamut museums, from the Military Aviation and the Olivo Presidential Train, as well as a visit to the archaeological zone of Teotihuacán, where people can walk and marvel at the greatness of its pyramids, as well as enjoy the local gastronomic offer”, he declared.
He added that in terms of promotion, actions such as Operation Knock on Doors are carried out, with the aim of positioning Mexico as a preferred destination for international tourists, and recently it was carried out in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, in Canada; soon it will be in Dallas, Texas, and will participate with a pavilion, in the Word Travel Market, in London.
Torruco Marqués recognized Marcos Sacal, president of Grupo Murano, and the directors of the company, for this pre-inauguration of i-421 Live District Roma-Condesa Ciudad de México, whose strategic location offers the traveler access to a wide tourist offer, such as the archaeological zones of Cuicuilco, Tlatelolco and the Templo Mayor, or the Basilica of Guadalupe, one of the most visited sanctuaries in the world.

The head of Sectur assured that these actions are aimed at complying with the premise of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to make tourism a tool for social reconciliation; In addition, the policies that he implemented during the pandemic were correct, by not restricting international flights, implementing biosanitary protocols in the tourism sector, and the vaccination strategy.
For its part, the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City, Nathalie Desplas Puel, indicated that the country's capital is the city that has it all "by having the greatest connectivity, incredible mobility and greater access to outdoor areas. , so it deserves a hotel like this”.
On his occasion, Luis Antonio Ramírez Pineda, general director of Nacional Financiera and Bancomext, highlighted the importance of coordinated work between this institution and the business sector, especially in the tourism industry, to facilitate the promotion of infrastructure that contributes to the development of Mexico.
On behalf of the National Tourism Business Council (CNET), Germán González Bernal, president of CANIRAC, celebrated the opening of this new space to contribute to the attention of more travelers arriving in Mexico City.
When thanking the presence of the more than 200 people who gathered, including authorities and leaders of the tourism sector, as well as the media, Marcos Sacal, owner and general director of Operations of Grupo Murano, reported "i421 connects in many ways to two important brands with the rhythm of the community of this Roma-Condesa corridor, where thanks to the support of those who have opted to consolidate this development, 5,000 jobs have been generated so far and there will also be a direct impact on the local economy, since it has a national supply focus above 90%”.
