TAG Airlines, the flag carrier of Guatemala, will participate in the meeting of the Organization of the Mayan World, which will be held on November 16 in the colonial city of Antigua, with the participation of representatives of the five countries that make up this region: Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Belize and Mexico.
The objective of the meeting is to strengthen the tourism promotion strategies of the destinations heirs of this ancient civilization, which represents one of the most important and iconic travel destinations at an international level.

He recalled that the company is experiencing a new era with the relaunch of the brand and the strengthening of its air fleet with ATR 72 type aircraft, considered the most efficient and ecological of its kind, which will allow it to reach more destinations in Central America and the south of Mexico.
Additionally, the meeting in Antigua will include the participation of representatives of the Mexican Federal Tourism Secretariat, as well as the Tourism Secretariats of the southern states of the country, which are also part of the Mundo Maya region: Quintana Roo, Chiapas, Campeche, Tabasco and Yucatan.
The Mayan World Organization was created with the aim of promoting tourism and preserving the heritage of the Mayan civilization, through a strategy that includes the creation of new tourism products, environmental protection, the rescue of archaeological sites, the brand promotion and sustainable development of indigenous communities.
Currently, TagAirlines offers a daily frequency between Cancún and Guatemala, as well as four frequencies to Oaxaca, Mérida and Tuxtla Gutiérrez, in addition to three weekly flights between Mérida and Flores, and four between Cancún and Flores, which allows connectivity that the Mundo Maya to promote a multi-destination option in the region.
