Meeting with Chile to promote the promotion of Argentine tourism
A work agenda was carried out with representatives of the private sector at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Chile, the third most important country in terms of issuance of tourists to our destinations
With the aim of promoting the promotion of locations in Cuyo, Norte and Litoral that expand the Argentine offer for the Chilean market, Lammens met with authorities from LATAM, Novojet Chile, COCHA Tourism, Turavión and Travel Security. He was accompanied by Ambassador Rafael Bielsa and the Secretary of Tourism of the province of San Luis, Luis 'Piri' Macagno.
“We continue to make progress in efforts to reach pre-pandemic levels of receptive tourism, especially from neighboring countries, which implies a significant contribution of foreign currency for our country. In Argentina we are convinced that tourism will be decisive for the economic development of the coming years and we are going to continue working, in coordination with the region, in that direction”, assured the national minister in statements to the Chilean press.
According to the latest report from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, the entry of tourists from Chile reached a 78.2% recovery in October 2022 compared to the pre-pandemic. The trans-Andean country contributed more than 11% of the visitors that arrived in Argentina during the first 10 months of this year.
