Quito seeks quality in its tourist services

The 'Distinctive Q' was awarded to 81 establishments that meet quality standards and sustainability parameters in the services provided to visitors who come to the Capital of the Center of the World

The Municipality, through Quito Turismo, awarded the 'Distinctive Q' to 81 establishments that meet quality standards and sustainability parameters in the services provided to visitors who come to the Capital of the Center of the World.

The event was attended by the mayor of Quito, Santiago Guarderas; the manager of Quito Turismo, Cristina Rivadeneira; the vice mayor of the city, Gissela Chalá; and other municipal authorities; who were in charge of delivering the recognitions to 37 establishments that joined the 'Distinctive Q' this year; 26 that have remained for more than nine years and have met technical standards above 90%; and 18 that have complied with excellence with the regulations of the quality program, a pioneer in the country.

The 'Distinctive Q' celebrates 11 years of its creation as a recognition granted by the Municipality of Quito to establishments that have implemented quality and sustainable tourism management systems, to offer first class services, with a trained human team, which allows raise the quality of the tourist offer of the Capital of the Center of the World.

From the creation of the program there has been an articulated work between the public and private sectors. Quito Turismo works to improve the regulatory conditions and benefits for those who join and participate in the 'Distinctive Q'; and the tourism industry participates actively to strengthen the quality and services in its establishments.

Among the benefits that establishments acquire by being part of the 'Distinctive Q' program are training, talks and technical workshops related to the tourism industry; technical consultancies; participation in commercial or gastronomic festivals; dissemination of the program in familiarization and press trips; presence in national and international fairs; commercial links, alliances, innovation, business roundtables and other mechanisms to promote tourism quality and sustainability; and, promotion in digital media.

For 11 years, the 'Distinctive Q' has been characterized as the only voluntary program at the national level, with which the effort of tourist establishments to seek excellence through continuous implementation, control and standardization of their processes is visualized. transforming them into sustainable and innovative products and services.

In this way, Quito promotes quality and continuous improvement in tourist services so that national and foreign visitors experience the magic and charm that the Capital of the Center of the World keeps.
