The iconic event for the MICE segment is held in Barcelona until Thursday
The emblematic fair, which will have the creation of culture as its central theme, already exceeds the figures for 2019, representing the highest number of appointments per attendee than ever. This number will also increase even more as the agendas are open, allowing exhibitors to send invitations to buyers. During the three days, the organizers indicated that there are a total of 60,000 pre-scheduled meetings and that they will be attended by more than 10,000 attendees.
The event has a total of 2,200 exhibitors from more than 100 countries attending. Additionally, there are 91% of the number of destinations in attendance in 2019, making IBTM World a truly global event experience.
More hotels are represented than in 2019, including Accor, which returned after a long absence. Also present are Brazil, along with its 20 booth partners, and Malaysia returning after attending in 2021. The Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau attends with ten partners, including the Japan National Tourism Bureau and the Kyoto Convention and Visitors Bureau, and they represent Japan that has recently reopened for business. New Zealand has a significantly larger presence this year, and Bahrain increased its involvement to promote the new convention center, the Bahrain International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Technology wise, Stova launched its new brand there along with a number of key new tech exhibitors.
A total of 2,200 corporate buyers, associations and prestigious agencies attend this edition, including the European Union of Insurance Medicine and Social Security (EUMASS), Pfizer, COSMOPOLIS, International Stereoscopic Union, SAUDI Telecom Company, UNICEO (United Network of International Corporate Events Organisers), The British Pain Society, Maritz Global Events, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Citigroup Inc., and CWT Meetings & Events.
