With this inauguration, the new "Elite Club by RIU" service is presented, in addition to marking a new milestone in the year of the 25th anniversary of RIU in Mexico
RIU Hotels & Resorts inaugurates a new 5-star establishment, with 428 rooms, right on the beach in Cancun, the Riu Palace Kukulkan. The new hotel offers 24-hour All-Inclusive service and is of the Adults Only category. This year, 2022, marks the 25th anniversary of RIU's arrival in Mexico, a country that has become the chain's main international destination with 22 hotels in five Caribbean and Pacific states, totaling more than 12,000 rooms and in those who work almost 9,000 collaborators.
The rooms are bright, spacious and with views of the Caribbean Sea, and natural and earth tones prevail, giving the rooms a feeling of warmth. The sophisticated decoration predominates at the reception, with noble materials such as marble or wood, which together with the indirect and dim lighting give a warm welcome to the guests. Huge green columns preside over the lobby and contrast with comfortable white circular sofas that, together with the spectacular lamps, give the space elegance.
The new hotel offers customers a wide gastronomic offer, with a total of seven restaurants: the main Don Julio, a large buffet restaurant with a terrace; the Japanese Sunakku; Krystal, for fusion food; the Mexican the House of Flowers; the Italian, Rossini; a steakhouse on the pool terrace, perfect for meat lovers; and the Pepe's Food grill with grilled specialties during the day. In addition to its five bars: the Daiquiri Lobby bar, which has a specialist in mixology and daily signature cocktail; the Cappuccino pastry and ice cream parlor; the Latina lounge bar; the Mamasita pool bar; and the lounge bar.
In the outdoor area, guests can enjoy up to four swimming pools, as well as being able to directly access the beach from the hotel. They will also have at their disposal wellness and beauty services at Renova Spa. The new Riu Palace Kukulkan can boast of being located in a privileged location, on the seafront and opposite the popular "La Isla" shopping center. There are also excellent connections both to the archaeological zones of the Yucatan, as well as to the city of Cancun or its international airport (CUN).
One of the peculiarities of the new hotel is that customers who so wish may reserve Elite Club by RIU rooms. Guests who opt for this exclusive service will have access to independent and personalized check-in as well as late check-out, a welcome gift, aromatherapy and a liquor dispenser in the room with an assortment of Premium drinks, among many other benefits. In addition, guests who choose the new Elite Club concept will enjoy a special welcome, accompanied by a letter signed by the hotel manager, a gift from the house screen-printed with the Elite Club logo and a bottle of wine or cava to celebrate the start of your vacation.
With this new opening, the hotel chain adds 22 hotels in six destinations in the republic: five in Cancun: Riu Palace Kukulkan, Riu Palace Las Americas, Riu Palace Peninsula, Riu Cancun and Riu Caribe; three in Costa Mujeres: Riu Latino, Riu Dunamar and Riu Palace Costa Mujeres; the Riu Plaza Guadalajara, in Jalisco; three in Los Cabos: Riu Palace Baja California, Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and Riu Santa Fe; three in Riviera Nayarit: Riu Jalisco, Riu Palace Pacifico and Riu Vallarta; the Riu Emerald Bay, in Mazatlán; and six in Playa del Carmen: Riu Lupita, Riu Palace Mexico, Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Riu Playacar, Riu Tequila and the Riu Yucatan, the first hotel to open in the country in 1997.
