Embratur brings Brazilian destinations to IBTM World, in Barcelona

Together with 19 co-exhibitors, the Agency seeks opportunities at the main global event for the business industry in Barcelona, ​​Spain

Embratur begins this Tuesday (11/29) the latest actions to promote Brazilian destinations and products in the main international fairs of 2022. Together with 19 co-exhibitors between destinations, Brazilian tourism, airlines, accommodations and tour operators, the Agency is present at IBTM World 2022 Barcelona, ​​Spain, the world's leading event for the business and events industry (MICE). The program runs until Thursday (12/01) and the expectation is that around three thousand destinations and suppliers of the sector will attend.

IBTM World also has more than 15,000 professionals from the tourism industry, from more than 100 countries. This makes the fair an environment conducive to face-to-face connections with the most suitable audience to acquire important industry insights and networking opportunities during the three days of the fair.

“Embratur is going to show that Brazil is prepared to receive tourists from all over the world on corporate and incentive trips”, explains the president of Embratur, Gilson Machado Neto. Regarding the local market, Spanish tourists are among the 12 that travel and spend the most in the world. The country ranks 13th in the general ranking of international arrivals to Brazil and, in 2019, the average expenditure of Spanish tourists was $52.41 (Leisure) and $79 (Business).

As in other international fairs, Embratur has specific actions at its stand. In addition to the meeting room for discussing business and opportunities, the area has a Business Center, a space for common use between the Agency and its co-exhibitors. Another service available is the tasting of typically Brazilian food and drinks, distributed with the aim of spreading the national cuisine to visitors. In addition, Embratur will distribute exclusive kits for invited buyers who participate in meetings with the Agency or with co-exhibitors and follow the presentations in the stand's auditorium.

The year 2022 will end with Embratur's participation in 12 international tourism fairs, the main ones in the sector. In the first semester alone, the Agency had its own stand at six international fairs: Fitur – Madrid, between January 19 and 23; ANATO – Colombia, between February 23 and 25; BTL – Portugal, between March 16 and 20; BIT – Italy, between April 10 and 12; IMEX – Germany, between May 31 and June 2; and Fiexpo – Panama, between June 13 and 16. Together, the shares add up to a business expectation of R$ 16.5 million.

In the second semester, Embratur was present at FIT Latin America, between October 1 and 4, in Buenos Aires, Argentina; at IMEX America, between October 11 and 13, in Las Vegas, United States; at the New York International Travel Show (NYITS), between October 28 and 30, in New York, United States; at the World Travel Market (WTM), between November 7 and 9, in London, United Kingdom; and at the International Tourism Fair of Paraguay (FITPAR), between November 11 and 12.
