King Salman International Airport will become one of the largest in the world

The crown prince announced that works will be carried out that will allow Saudi Arabia to develop and position itself as a world center for trade and tourism

Saudi Arabia announced that it will build one of the largest airports in the world in Riyadh. It will have six parallel tracks and expects to contribute $7.18 billion annually to the country's non-oil gross domestic product. This is a new commitment by the Kingdom to develop and position itself as a world center for trade and tourism.

Thus, annual passenger traffic will be boosted, which will go from 29 million to 120 million by 2030 and 185 million by 2050. In addition, the number of planes will go from 211,000 to more than 1 million per year and will have the capacity to process 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050.

All this will be done consciously and with sustainability as the main axis: it will incorporate cutting-edge ecological initiatives and use renewable energy. This will earn it LEED Platinum certification. All of this will offer a seamless travel experience for customers, with efficient operations and innovation.

This is a new step for Saudi Arabia in its quest to transform and develop Riyadh. The objective is clear: to be among the ten cities with the largest economies, promote population growth and continue to stimulate employment (it is estimated that the new airport will create 103,000 direct and indirect jobs).
