Virgin Voyages adds Resilient Lady to growing fleet of Lady Ships

Richard Branson's new premium cruise line, Virgin Voyages, makes a splash again, taking delivery of the brand's third ship: the beautiful Resilient Lady. Built from the ground up by Italian shipyard Fincantieri, Resilient Lady is a mid-size ship weighing in at 110,000 gross tons like her sister ships in the fleet: Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady.

Built at the Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Resilient Lady marks the brand's third completed vessel in a span of just two years, a remarkable achievement for any brand and an even bigger task for a new company that launched last year. On May 14, 2023, Resilient Lady will embark on her MerMaiden voyage around the Greek islands, making stops in Santorini, Rhodes, Bodrum and Mykonos before returning to her home port of Piraeus, Athens. The ship will sail two eight-night itineraries, including "Greek Island Glow" with the aforementioned route, and "Adriatic Sea and Greek Gems" with calls in the beautiful cities of Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor and Corfu. .

Following her inaugural season in the Mediterranean, Resilient Lady will embark on a 44-night repositioning voyage, heading Down Under for a winter season in Australia and New Zealand. Starting on October 22, 2023, the ship will depart from Athens before stopping at some of the most exotic locations the brand has yet to unveil, including Cairo, Dubai, Bali, Mumbai, Phuket and Singapore. She will finally arrive in Sydney on December 4, 2023 for a series of celebrations, media sneak peeks and more.

With a hydrodynamic hull design, cutting-edge alternative technologies that reduce emissions, and Climeon technology, Resilient Lady was designed with the environment and guest comfort in mind. Known for its tall and slender tower-like architecture, the Resilient Lady design offers 93% of the cabanas incredible ocean views and 86% expansive open-air balconies with the brand's signature Yellow Leaf hammocks. Her interiors, 1,330 Sailor staterooms and 78 RockStar rooms, include high-tech touches, including tablets that allow sailors to control the room temperature, open and close the blinds, music, television and fun mood lighting, all with the push of a button.

In addition to its elegant cabin interiors, Resilient Lady will feature the brand's six Michelin-inspired restaurants, more than 20 restaurants, a selection of live entertainment, fashion-forward designer bars, seaside retreats and incredible service. Seamlessly integrating into a unique ocean experience, Virgin Voyages has developed a one-of-a-kind vacation that has been recognized by Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, and US News & World Report. Most recently, the line received three industry awards from Cruise Critic, including Best Dining, and received its most coveted award for Best New Ship in 2021 for Scarlet Lady.
