Paraguay prepares the Ruins of Humaitá for the summer

The National Secretariat of Tourism began the cleaning work of the old structure for the conservation of the Ruins of the Church of San Carlos de Borromeo de Humaitá

The National Secretariat of Tourism, through officials dedicated to the maintenance of heritage sites of the Jesuit Missions, began the cleaning work of the old structure, for the conservation of the Ruins of the Church of San Carlos de Borromeo de Humaitá, National Historical Heritage and one of the most important witnesses of the War against the Triple Alliance (1865-1870). 

The maintenance covers part of the structure in height, in walls and green areas, removal of weeds, cleaning of lyric, preventive conservation works, fumigation against pests and others. Heritage conservation is part of the objectives of responsible tourism.

This committed work of SENATUR is given within the framework of support to the municipality of Humaitá and in coordination with the National Secretary of Culture, for the conservation of the Historical Heritage of national importance.
