He noted that this work is part of the Metropolitan Airport System, along with the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) and the Toluca International Airport.

He said that with the purpose of strengthening the airport infrastructure, the expansion and remodeling of the Chetumal International Airport was also carried out, which represented an investment of 149 million pesos. Work is also being done on the remodeling of the Tepic Airport, which will allow passengers to reach important tourist attractions such as Nuevo Nayarit. He also exposed the new airports being built in Mexico, such as Tulum, in Quintana Roo; and Creel, in Chihuahua.
