Hilton announces expansion of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts with a new hotel in Mexico

The signing of this agreement reinforces Hilton's luxury portfolio in the region and introduces the third Waldorf Astoria hotel and the second residential property of the brand in Mexico

Hilton announced the signing of the third property of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand in Mexico, Waldorf Astoria San Miguel de Allende, a new construction that is scheduled to open in early 2025. Located in the heart of one of the most coveted vacation destinations of the country, Waldorf Astoria San Miguel de Allende will offer 120 hotel rooms and 24 of the best residences of the Waldorf Astoria brand in the colonial city, known for its architecture, its flourishing art scene and its rich history. The property belongs to PEAKAIR GROUP, is being developed by Skyplus Developments Corp. and will be managed by Hilton.

The timeless setting of the city and its recognition as a luxury vacation destination make it naturally suitable for the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand. 

With the arrival of Waldorf Astoria San Miguel de Allende in 2025, Hilton will add another world-class destination to its prestigious global Waldorf Astoria portfolio of more than 30 iconic hotels and resorts, and 18 residential properties open or under development. The addition strengthens Hilton's luxury portfolio in Mexico, which already includes Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, Conrad Punta de Mita, Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya and the recently opened Waldorf Astoria Cancun. The growth of Hilton's luxury portfolio in Mexico is part of expansion plans in the country, where guests are currently welcomed at approximately 90 hotels and resorts across 12 Hilton brands, and with nearly 25 additional properties under development. .  

Waldorf Astoria San Miguel de Allende will be located in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by characteristic cobbled streets and colorful Spanish colonial buildings. Guests will be able to enjoy some of the area's most extraordinary attractions within walking distance, including the famous neo-Gothic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel church, a structure that rises imposingly above the main square in the center of town. The hotel will also offer convenient access to local restaurants, bars and shops.

Waldorf Astoria San Miguel de Allende will be part of Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest loyalty program of Hilton's 18 world-class brands, and will feature 120 artfully designed guest rooms and suites, as well as 24 Hilton-managed private residences that provide owners access to all hotel amenities and exclusive services for residents. Hotel guests and residence owners will have access to wellness-inspired amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center with yoga and meditation areas, a luxurious and restorative destination-inspired spa, and a rooftop terrace with swimming pools and relaxation areas that offer a spectacular view of the city. Besides, an art gallery and a local craft shop will also welcome guests, while families will have access to the hotel's kids and teens club. The range of amenities is complemented by the culinary excellence that can be enjoyed in its three restaurants, two bars and a cafeteria.   

Throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton currently has a portfolio of 200 hotels welcoming travelers throughout the region and a development project of more than 100 hotels in various stages of design and construction.
