Ecuador: Equair presented its third aircraft

It is called "Papagayo" and was named after the emblematic bird of the Pearl of the Pacific.

The flag airline of Ecuador EQUAIR added its third aircraft: "Papagayo"; baptized like this in representation of the emblematic bird of the Pearl of the Pacific. It arrives to complement and expand its routes together with the other two aircraft: "Cóndor" symbol of the Ecuadorian Sierra; and, “Albatross” that represents the species existing in the Galapagos Islands.

"Papagayo" is a Boeing 737-700 Next Generation, with capacity for 142 passengers, with registration HC-CXS; and, it was received by the traditional water arch at the Guayaquil Airport, with the experienced EQUAIR crew and complying with all operational safety standards.

Frederik Jacobson - CEO of EQUAIR pointed out: "the arrival of the third plane is a firm commitment that we have for the connectivity of Ecuador, based on an organization focused on people to serve Ecuadorians, with the firm purpose of providing operational excellence and a WOW experience”.

On board the Papagayo were fifteen young people from the "Fortaleza de los Guerrer@s" Foundation - who fight cancer every day - were invited to live their first flight experience. Among the young people we had the pleasure of meeting Alexander, a warrior with osteosarcoma and lung metastases, whose dream was to fly by plane for the first time and longs to be an oncologist to help his companions in the fight against cancer.

On the other hand, ten important media outlets in the country were protagonists of the on-board service and learned first-hand of the sustainable expansion plan that the Ecuadorian flag carrier has planned for the second quarter of next year.
