Long live Airbus: continues to increase the number of passengers and occupancy

Passengers increased 21.7%, reaching a load factor of 84.4%

Viva Aerobus today announced its preliminary traffic results for December 2022. This month Viva transported 2.02 million passengers, an increase of 21.7% compared to December 2021, driven by an increase of 24.6% and 2.6% in domestic traffic. and international, respectively. The load factor reached 84.4% compared to 84.3% in 2021, this reflected a load factor of 86.6% and 74.4% in the domestic and international markets, respectively. 

Viva increased its total capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) by 20.4% compared to December 2021. In terms of the breakdown by market, Viva grew its capacity by 23.2% in the domestic market and by 9.3% in the international. 

In the accumulated of the year (January-December), Viva has transported 20.70 million passengers. This meant an increase of 35.6% compared to 2021 and with an occupancy factor of 85.8%, an increase of 2.2 percentage points. 

“We saw strong demand in December, as well as healthy levels of passenger traffic in all of our markets. We received our last A321neo of the year and closed with a fleet of 69 aircraft, one of the youngest fleets in Latin America with an average age of 5.2. All the People Alive did an incredible job transporting more than 2 million passengers this month, despite operational challenges due to weather conditions. Finally, it is worth noting that we are very excited about the performance of our new loyalty program, Doters, which already has more than 1.3 million affiliates in less than 5 months”, mentioned Juan Carlos Zuazua, General Director of Viva Aerobus.
