The International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2023, announces the winners of the XXVIII Contest for the Best Active Tourism Product, which it organizes together with AireLibre Magazine, to promote the development and marketing of the tourism industry, with a focus on promoting the proposals in adventure tourism, culture, nature, food and wine, technological development, accessibility and the environment. The jury made up of end consumers, tourism professionals, the media and representatives of the tourism sector has once again highlighted the high quality of the proposals presented by the exhibitors and co-exhibitors of FITUR 2023.

On this occasion, more than 100 products have been presented in the National and International sections. Finally, after an intense deliberation by the jury to which the 6,500 votes cast by the public and professionals have been added, the following products have won the prizes: In the national category, Mountain Bike Experiences that have valued an entire territory , in the Sobrarbe region (Aragon); Hiking with donkeys in the Ricote Valley (History, culture, protecting donkeys. Trails along the banks of the Segura River and the Abarán Norias Route), at the Puerta del Valle de Ricote (Murcia); and river ecotourism - Sil and Miño in kayak, in Galicia. They are added, in the international category, Kumano kodo: Follow the footsteps of the samurai in an ancient pilgrimage through the forest. Kii Peninsula (Wakayama Prefecture, Japan); Mayan world multi-destination tourist. Community tourism and segments are developed (Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico); and International Roots Festival (Gambia). The six will receive a seal that will identify them as winners in the next edition of FITUR.

The awards ceremony will take place within the framework of FITUR 2023, which is held from January 18 to 22, at IFEMA MADRID.

NATIONAL CATEGORY WINNERS:

Mountain bike experiences that have valued an entire territory. Sobrarbe region (Aragon).
Zona Zero is a business association based in the Sobrarbe region, with more than 100 partners in the territory, which manages the BTT center of the same name and whose main activity is the recovery of roads and signaling of circuits for use as enduro-routes. MTB.

Hiking with donkeys in the Ricote Valley: History, culture, protecting donkeys. Paths along the banks of the Segura river and the Abarán Norias Route, the Gate of the Ricote Valley (Murcia).

International Roots Festival, The Gambia.
The Gambia International Roots Festival (formerly Homecoming) commemorates forced slavery and the sending of millions of Africans to the Americas and Caribbean region.
