Peru is presented as a competitive, sustainable, quality and safe tourist destination at FITUR, one of the most important international tourism fairs that takes place in the city of Madrid from January 18 to 22, reports the Promotion Commission of Peru for Exportation and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
The Peruvian stand, which is led by PROMPERÚ and is made up of 26 companies, is located in the Americas pavilion at IFEMA MADRID and houses both professionals from the tourism sector and those interested in the latest trends in the sector.
"Peruvian participation, which this year celebrates 26 years of uninterrupted attendance at FITUR, will allow us to show a diverse offer of unique experiences for our visitors, but also a climate responsible one, assuming a leading role in the conservation of the environment and contributing to it. time with the economic and social development of the country," said Amora Carbajal, executive president of PROMPERÚ.
Carbajal pointed out that Peruvian companies will promote their tourism products and show an important offer in culture, adventure and nature, with sustainability as the axis, to more than 100,000 international visitors. "This presentation will allow businessmen to make important business appointments with professionals from the sector, seeking to secure commitments for more than $6 million at the end of the event," reported Amora Carbajal.
In this sense, a varied offer is promoted in the medium and long term of destinations such as Amazonas, Ancash, Arequipa, Cusco, Puno, Ica, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Lima, Madre de Dios and Loreto. This will allow the different regions to be shown, favoring the offer of open spaces with sustainable practices, with the aim of favoring the economic progress of the country.

Peruvian officials began their promotional work with a meeting with the Fundación Consejo España Perú, which integrates the main and most prominent Spanish companies that renewed their strategic commitment to investment in the country, and showed great interest in the destination Peru .
The meeting was chaired by the executive president of PROMPERÚ, Amora Carbajal, together with the Ambassador of Peru in Spain, Oscar Maúrtua, and the president of CANATUR, José Koechlin Von Stein.

Sustainability has become a vital element for Peru in its development plans and programs. Thus, PROMPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to the comprehensive approach to climate change mitigation, by integrating the "Guardians of Nature" initiative of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
