The first data on attendance at the International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2023, which has been held at IFEMA MADRID since last Wednesday, confirm the absolute success of this great tourism event, which already exceeds all expectations initially set. In just its first three professional days, FITUR has brought together 136,000 attendees, which represents 68% more than in 2022, placing itself in parameters that are already very close to the record edition of FITUR held in 2020.
As far as the digital sphere is concerned, FITUR also registers a great milestone, and that is that traffic to the IFEMA MADRID website skyrocketed exponentially for the first fair, reaching the all-time record of 146,000 visits. In this same context, the FITUR LIVEConnect digital platform, which complements the fair with a hybrid format with a greater temporal and geographical scope, has registered more than 40,000 registrations as of today, compared to the 31,000 total in 2022.
Likewise, it is estimated that all this movement of arrivals at FITUR will generate an impact on the Madrid economy of approximately 400 million euros.
Institutional support and visits by authorities from the five continents
As every year, we must highlight the strong institutional backing that FITUR has received, with the support of Casa Real, once again. put the finishing touch to the opening day with the presence of SS.MM. the Kings of Spain, as well as by the Government of Spain. In addition, FITUR 2023 has had the visit of the President of Guatemala, Alejandro Eduardo Giammattei, Partner Country of this edition; the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez; UNWTO representatives; 30 Ministers of Tourism from different countries; the Ministers of Economy and Social Affairs of Guatemala; 6 Spanish Ministers; 15 Presidents of Autonomous Communities and Tourism Councilors from 16 communities, and a hundred ambassadors and business managers, and mayors from different towns and cities in our country.

The impact of holding FITUR 2023 has also been reflected in the extensive international media coverage recorded these first three days, in which 6,300 journalists have been accredited, 5,504 national and 510 international from 46 countries. 56% more than in 2022, with the press still missing from covering the fair over the weekend.
In the social media environment, during the first two days of FITUR there has been a growth in the community of 3,724 followers, so that the FITUR profiles on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin now have a total of 288,557 followers. In addition, all the publications made during these first days have obtained 1,676,316 impressions.
