Embratur announces new international event managers and data intelligence

The hiring demonstrates the commitment of the new management to the professionalization of the team

The president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, announced this Monday (30) new professionals who will occupy strategic positions in the management of the company. Mariana Aldrigui will assume the Research and Data Intelligence Management. And Bruno Reis will be in charge of the Management of Markets, Fairs and International Events. Both will work directly with the Director of Marketing, Intelligence and Communication, Jaqueline Gil.

“We are bringing qualified professionals, recognized by the market and with extensive experience inside and outside of Brazil. Our focus will be to professionalize Embratur, through a management committed to efficiency, transparency and dialogue with all businesses. This is how we are going to promote Brazil abroad and bring more foreign tourists, generating employment, income and development here in our country”, affirmed Freixo.

Aldrigui is a research professor in the area of ​​Tourism at the University of São Paulo (USP) and has a PhD in Human Geography. She is president of the Tourism Council of the Federation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo. Aldrigui is also coordinator of the NGO Global Travel & Tourism Partnership in Brazil in the institution's expansion project for Latin America.

This invitation materializes the dream cherished by many researchers, which is to transform numbers, data and facts into practical and strategic information for the better development of Brazilian tourism. This Monday Bruno Reis left the presidency of the Potiguar Tourism Promotion Company (EMPROTUR) to join Embratur. He is vice president of the National Forum of State Secretaries and Directors of Tourism (FORNATUR). Reis also worked as an executive at the Tom Jobim International Airport (RIOgaleão). He was chosen one of the 100 most powerful tourism professionals in 2020, 2021 and 2022 by PANROTAS / ELO, and received 1st place in the national tourism award in the Marketing category in 2018.

“I am very happy and fulfilled to be able to collaborate in this unique moment with the repositioning of the image of Brazil abroad, and even more to contribute to the renewal of the leadership that Brazilian tourism so needs”, said Reis.

Jaqueline Gil greeted the arrival of new employees and reinforced the commitment assumed by the president with a technical and professional management of Embratur. She spoke about the main challenges faced by the efforts led by Mariana Aldrigui and Bruno Reis.

“Mariana assumes the mission of rebuilding Embratur's research and data intelligence area, recovering and modernizing historical series, incorporating studies of trends, futures and new technologies. We will partner with universities, research centers and companies, including big data holders, in Brazil and abroad. Embratur will be an excellent source of information for the international tourism sector”, explained Gil.

The director affirmed that the Management of International Markets, Fairs and Events will be unified and that Reis will adopt an individualized strategy by priority country and by segment or niche of activity, so that the actions are more effective.

“Bruno will begin by reorganizing our participation in the BLT (Lisbon) and the ITB (Berlin) and, shortly after, he will review the criteria for participation in international fairs. We will also start rebuilding bridges with players in priority markets. All our actions will be reconstructed with dialogue and in partnership with the market, ”he pointed out.

 

Profile of the new managers

Mariana Aldrigui has been a professor and researcher in the Tourism area at the University of São Paulo (USP) since 2006. She has a degree in Tourism (1998), a Master's in Communication Sciences (2003) and a PhD in Human Geography (2011), all USP titles. Since December 2017, she has chaired the Tourism Council of the Federation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo. She also coordinates the actions of the NGO Global Travel & Tourism Partnership in Brazil and expansion actions for Latin America.

Bruno Reis is general director of the Potiguar Tourism Promotion Company (EMPROTUR-RN) and vice president of the National Forum of State Secretaries and Directors of Tourism (FORNATUR). He worked as an executive at the Tom Jobim International Airport – RIOgaleão, focused on the passenger experience and the attraction of flights to Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, and, previously at Embratur, he was responsible for the management of the former Brazilian Tourism Offices ( EBT) abroad. He was chosen as one of the 100 most powerful in tourism in 2020, 2021 and 2022 by PANROTAS/ELO, and received 1st place in the national tourism award in the Marketing category in 2018. He has a degree in Tourism with a specialization in administration and marketing in Australia.
